Want to experience life like a local? You must follow in their footsteps. Welcome to Le Marais.
This fashionable district is complete with trendy boutiques, medieval lanes, and other unusual attractions that many tourists overlook. The Parisians like to socialize here. Le Marais Walking Tour will help you to understand why. In the end, you may even feel like a Parisian.
Touring the Marais’ rich history and contemporary appeal will be the focus of your local guide, who will show you the historic Jewish quarter and vibrant LGBT culture. Check out the “inside-out building,” the Pompidou Center, and understand why Parisians first resented and then loved it (not unlike the Eiffel Tower). Stravinsky Fountain, with its 16 moving and spraying water components, is a popular photographic location nearby.
Your guide will next lead you on tour into the heart of Le Marais. Check out the Place des Vosges. The place where Victor Hugo previously resided is now a popular picnic spot for French tourists. You’ll feel like you’ve fallen into a fairy tale as you stroll along the 12th-century Rue des Rosiers (“street of rosebushes”) in Paris. This is, however, the real Paris, which is both beautiful and ever-changing.
Village Saint-Paul, known for its cobblestone streets, art galleries, antiques, and more, is the last stop on our city tour. Now that you’ve settled down, it’s the ideal spot to relax, drink, dine, and shop. If you wish to remain longer, your guide may recommend places to visit. It’s hard to leave Le Marais once you’ve been there for a while.
